Our Veterinarians

Rebecca Arbesman, DVM, Medical Director

Dr Rebecca Arbesman is a 2002 graduate of the University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine. She has been an associate at Carter Pet Hospital since 2007 and became the Medical Director in 2010. She loves all areas of Vet med but has a special passion for surgery and is the premier blood draw person in the clinic.

She has been married to Gordon Arbesman for 25 years in 2022 and they have 2 daughters Ashley and Jessica. Carter Pet Hospital is a big part of the Arbesman family, as both daughters have worked the ladder to up to being veterinary technicians and Gordon is the IT specialist for the clinic. Dr. Arbesman has a passion for animals and has been dedicated to animal health even as a child growing up on the family farm. She enjoys the simple things in life including good food, friends, church, and relaxing at home. Her lap is never empty, and the family is never bored as the crew of Cavaliers, Miniature Australian Shepherds, Cats and Ferrets are always cuddling and creating mischief.

Amanda Logan Cassells, DVM

Amanda Logan Cassells, DVM

Dr. Amanda Logan has always loved animals. She grew up on a farm north of Troy surrounded by many pets and farm animals. She first visited the Mizzou Veterinary college in sixth grade and knew then that she would someday be a veterinarian. Dr. Logan brings 22 years of experience to Carter Pet Hospital.

Dr. Logan graduated from the University of Missouri, College of Veterinary Medicine, with Honors, in 2000.  She is very interested in the dental health of dogs and cats and is pursuing additional training and education to allow her to provide more specialized care. Ask her what you can do at home to help keep your pets’ teeth healthy!

Dr. Logan lives with her husband, Steve, and her two children, Sean, and Lily.  Her furry family consists of Scout the mini-Aussie mix, Luna the Golden Retriever, and Nibs the failed foster cat. Although Dr. Logan loves all animals, she has a special place in her heart for grumpy senior dogs. In her free time, she enjoys reading, kayaking, and watching her kids play lacrosse.  When the weather is nice her favorite place is the Lake of the Ozarks, where her family has a cabin.

Her favorite things about pets? Puppy breath and naughty terriers!

Jordan Rice, DVM

Dr. Rice joined the Carter Pet Hospital team in April of 2020. He has a BS in Marine Biology from University of Southern Mississippi and his DVM from Mizzou, the University of Missouri.

Dr. Rice grew up in Poplar Bluff, MO and has always loved animals. The ability to work with animals on a daily basis and support the human animal bond is what drew him to Veterinary medicine. His interests vary from companion animal to exotic medicine and he has a special passion for surgery.

In his free time, he enjoys playing piano, hiking, fishing, and of course spending time with his furry family members. Dr. Rice currently has three pets: “Nova,” a miniature schnauzer; “Squeezer,” a 10-year-old ball python; and “Speedy,” a red-eared slider who is 15!

What is his favorite thing about the Pets? When they get the “Zoomies!”

Kathryn Notch, DVM

Dr. Notch joined Carter Pet Hospital team in the summer of 2020. She graduated from Mizzou with her doctorate in Veterinary Medicine and has always had a passion for animals. Dr. Notch is especially interested in oncology and cardiology, although she loves caring for all pets.

As far back as she can remember, she has always wanted to help animals. Prior to becoming a veterinarian, she worked with animals as a kennel worker, a veterinary technician, and a dairy farm hand! Dr. Notch lives with her husband, Kyle, and their three bunnies, Bun Bun, Teddy, and Pam, as well as their two dogs, Gracie and Stella. In her free time, she loves to take Gracie and Stella out for a hike.

Her favorite thing about the Pets? “Snuggles!”
